Unity Dream Tree Thank You Card

I haven't been uber crafty this weekend, though I wanted to be. Partly because we have a lot of stuff going on and partly because once I'm already vegging, it's hard to stop vegging.

Made a thank you card last week from one of the Unity stamps I got - Dream Tree:

A while back, I bought a set of envelope templates from Paper Source, which I used to make an envelope for the card since it's not the normal A4 size. Also stamped the envelope with the tree:

I was too lazy to break out the desktop studio, so there is a bunch of glare from the desk lamp on the shimmery blue ink. Oh well.

Folding Crate on Wheels

After lugging my scrapbooking stuff to Cindy's house last Friday, I mentioned to Greg that although I didn't want a "scrapbooking tote," I wanted something that I could stash and carry all my junk in. So, Greg got me this collapsible rolling tote today:

It is sweet. I already took it for a test run around the house!
(I think it will get used more in general if it isn't a special scrapbooking tote - Greg wouldn't be caught dead rolling around a girly scrapbooking tote).

Get Well Card for Kati

Kati (Greg's sister) came down with appendicitis last week and had her appendix out. We visited her after the surgery. I was in a pink mood and made this get well card for her:

(I used some of that seam binding ribbon from Paper Studio).

Lunch with Lee Anne and Midori Rayon Trimming

Last Saturday, we met my friend, Lee Anne, for lunch in Tempe. After years of being away from Phoenix and the gradual growing apart that comes from going to different schools (not just college, but elementary/middle/high schools as well), I recently came to the realization that Lee Anne and I have more in common than I previously thought. I don't know if it's always been that way or not (I wouldn't say we were THE closest even growing up), but I'm happy to find that some of the reasons I felt were big dividers in my childhood friendships are not really issues to begin with.

I got this belated birthday card from Lee Anne, which I thought was cute and typically Asian:

After lunch with Lee Anne, since we were already in Tempe, I roped Greg into taking me over to the Paper Studio. Seam binding (a.k.a. rayon trimming) is my (current) ribbon of choice and I snagged some vintage seam binding when Stephanie and I were at Mystic Paper a month or two ago. The whole prospect of "vintage" concerns me from a can-I-get-more standpoint though, so I was happy to find that this seam binding/rayon trimming by Midori will continue to be carried at the Paper Studio and can be easily replenished.

I ended up getting four yards of ten different colors just because I like it so much:

Sinkware Organizer

I like organization. And I like being organized. But I'm not so good at the execution and (especially) maintenance of said organization. So, I was pretty tickled when Greg got me this "countertop sinkware organizer":

KitchenAidSinkCaddy

I know it seems like something too silly to be excited about, but it just makes all the sink stuff so neat. I'm digging it. And yes, it spins. BAM.

Twilight Bandwagon

TwilightCover

The heavily hyped and anticipated Twilight movie coming out this Friday is going to be crazy. It'll be like that one time I happened to be in a Barnes & Noble when it was the release night of the latest book in the Twilight series. Craziness. And lots of teen-aged girls. And squealing.

I feel like I need to get on the Twilight bandwagon. Not that I haven't intended to (I just haven't gotten around to it), but now I feel more of a sense of urgency with the movie coming out. I refuse (and I actually use the word "refuse" very lightly because I could probably be convinced otherwise) to see the movie until I read the books though. Movies, however "faithful," never seem to capture the complete spirit and complexity of the book(s) on which they are based.

Holiday Card Exchange

I heart card exchanges! Went to another one on Friday - I always like seeing what everyone comes up with.

Unity Stamp Company Purchases

I've been following Unity Stamp Company on Google Reader for some time now, but I finally couldn't resist the Hip Hop Thursday deals last week and bought some stamps. They came yesterday and I'm excited to use them (when I find the time - I thought I'd have a lot of down time over the holidays, but I don't think that will be the case).

I ended up getting . . .

Distressed Dots, Worn Grid, and Floral Edge:

Fanciful Dots, Everlasting Romance, Dream Tree, and Hullabaloo:

I was muy impressed with the organza-bagged singles.

Making Memories Noteworthy Layout

I've been hoarding this Making Memories Noteworthy paper (Hillary Artisan Blue Edge, which apparently has been discontinued), but I finally used it for a layout of me and Greg:

Pretty happy with the result (and the desktop studio Greg got me, which I used to photograph the layout). Feeling pretty accomplished. Greg and I need more "couples" pictures so that I can do more "us" layouts.

I Voted!

I'm ready for history to be made!

Greg and I got up at 5:30 this morning to go vote. Yeah! Then we went to Starbucks and got some (free) tea.

The election this year is going to be historic regardless of who wins, so I felt that I needed to go vote in order to not be lame. Too bad for the Republicans that I did not vote with the party. I'm too moderate to want to be classified as one or the other, but they make you choose.

Orange Flower and White Weave Card

Another blank card, just because I was inspired and found some time here and there to do it:

The black journaling box will be for whatever the occasion is.
